"Shelter" is a 1996 sorrel stallion in his first year at J&R Quarter Horses. His sire, Staint Alone, has always been a favorite of J&R's and traces back to the all-time leading thoroughbred sire of racing quarter horses, Beduino. In addition to his top side, Shelter's dam also adds her own accolades to Shelter's pedigree. Skippa Shelter was one of four mares personally chosen by Mr. Wiescamp in the late '80s to pursue a show career under the guidance of Greg Howard. Such a history laced with the greats of both AQHA and the Wiescamp lineage have made Shelter a welcomed addition to J&R's program.
